RIPROAR YOUTH TRIATHLON SERIES
SEASON 11 · SUMMER 2025
By definition, RipRoar is exciting. It's loud, it's engaging, it’s full of challenge and celebration.
“RipRoar” is named for the moment a child runs across our finish line, “ripped” open through the challenge they’ve overcome and experiences the unleashing of their “wild.”
RipRoar represents the passion our team has for creating transformative moments for youth by building a stage to let them shine.
RipRoar is a new generation of youth triathlons: inspiring, challenging, and absolutely awesome.
The Creed
The Creed
In this tribe, we race together. These are my people. This is our day.
Together we sweat. Together we suffer. Together we endure.
When others turn back, we push forward. When fear rises up, We rise above it.
We create strength that inspires others.
We are tenacious. We are determined. And together we are unstoppable.
We believe in safe but challenging events that teach tenacity, grit and the value of endurance.
We believe that competition, whether with others or with oneself, is valuable not divisive.
We believe that every finish line is an opportunity to hook kids on the thrill of doing hard things.
We believe that triathlon is for everyone regardless of talent, training, or quality of equipment.
We believe that creating a hard challenge allows us celebrate all who have the courage to compete regardless of place.
The most exciting series in youth endurance sports is returning for another summer of hard work, high fives, and finish lines. It’s Year 10 (X) for the RipRoar Youth Triathlon Series and we’ve got some exciting announcements.
Starting in 2018, RipRoar's Youth triathlon Series are produced on behalf of The Youth Tribe, a Des Moines based non-profit focused on continuing the tradition of triathlon for the next generation. While the RipRoar Series looks similar to the world-class races of the past the effort required to keep triathlon going for future years will look much different.
The Youth Tribe is run by an all-volunteer board of directors and is funded through local fundraisers, donors, corporate partners and (hopefully) grants. In 2023 The Youth Tribe has set a fundraising goal of $30,000 to cover the cost of in-school educational programming, first-time athlete training programs, Mentor scholarships, and support of youth triathlons across the Midwest including the Ankeny Kids Triathlon, The Flatlands Cup and The RipRoar Youth Triathlon Series.
